Rclone

Rclone

Rclone is "rsync for the cloud". It lets you conveniently copy between a file system and, say, Google drive, Dropbox, Box and many other cloud collections. It is well worth learning.

It is not as efficient for syncing massive quantities of data from end point to end point as rsync, but has a simpler syntax that holds across a variety of endpoints, including file systems (near and far via ssh, like rsync) and many cloud providers as well. rclone makes it very easy to move data around using a cloud triangulation point like Google drive. For each destination, there is a minute's worth of work that needs to be done to configure the destination by identifying the provider (box, google drive, backblaze, etc.) and providing authentication info. The Rclone website provides extensive documentation and details about each cloud supported.
